Hallways

Hallways. Just like "Starburst" they are one juicy contradiction! Not all hallways of course, but high school hallways. I was one of the first things I noticed when I became a freshman.

School is (supposed to be) a place of order. Thats how the classrooms are at least. When the bell rings and you walk out into the hallways, it is like you have entered another world, far far away. It is a world of complete and utter chaos.

I still am not sure why though. In theory, navigating through school hallways should be pretty easy, just stay to the right, right?

WRONG. When you enter the hallway people are running at you from all sides. There is no safe place to walk. Being a freshman surrounded by guys 50 lbs. heavier than me means that I get run over several times a day.

Half the kids in the school have their drivers license! So why is it that when they get out of their car, they suddenly forget all the rules of the road and think its ok to walk on the left side of the hallway! Don't they know that at a T-Intersection the person on the through road has the right of way? Apparently not.

This post has no real meaning whatsoever, but this issue has been on my mind for a while so I thought what better place to let it out?

If anyone important in the school district does ever read this, I would like to say that I think it is absolutely necessary to instal traffic lights, and signs in our hallways. Instead of paying I fine if a rule is broken, the punishment will be detention.

To any seniors Juniors or Sophomores reading this: CALM DOWN! We have 7 minutes to get to class!  Take a power nap in between if you need to, have a tea party! Just slow down.

BYE!
